The cleanliness level left much to be desired!!! Shower temperatures fluctuated unexpectedly, and the scaffolding view from the terrace was a major letdown!!! Both factors detracted from the overall experience significantly.

Perfect for solo travelers looking for comfort

The room was spacious and clean, and I loved the touch of having a Nespresso machine waiting for me, it made mornings much better. The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them, which really helped me feel at home.

It wasn't inexpensive but the quality justified the cost.

It was just a great fit for one night in Haytor with good value considering the price it charged. The staff were super kind and really accommodating with my dietary needs, which made my stay enjoyable. Make sure to enjoy a meal in the restaurant. the food is delicious.

Wonderful stay filled with amazing service!

Breakfast service felt a bit off. there were delays in refilling items and getting clean dishes, suggesting they might be stretched a little thin during busy times. The lack of air conditioning made rooms stuffy on arrival, while noisy neighbors disrupted sleep at times. A notable annoyance was receiving a room overlooking the fire escape initially, missing out on the more appealing views until after a complaint. Some common areas suffered from dim lighting, making it a tad uncomfortable at times.

The location offers beautiful grounds ideal for walks, with Hay Tor just nearby. Comfort was an undeniable highlight, with supremely soft sheets and an ensuite that stood out. The conservatory restaurant provided a delightful dining experience, complemented by tasty snacks at breakfast. ongoing refurbishment slightly disrupted the tranquility, and finding adequate garden seating during peak hours proved challenging.

The moorland hotel is a super chill place, the staff are sooo friendly n helpful. the room we had was really comfy n spacious, and the whole place is meticulously clean. the food was absolutely delish and beautifully presented, i can’t recommend the roast enough! also, the views of dartmoor are just breath taking, makes it a perfect spot for walks with our dog.

We had a lovely two-night stay and enjoyed the cozy lounge with subtitles and the beautiful garden with paths to explore. The dinner was a real treat with multiple courses, and the singer on our second night added a nice touch to the atmosphere. The only downside was the noise from the room above us, but it didn’t ruin our experience at all. just a little tip, check for any upcoming events to avoid that kind of hassle! 😊
